You will need:

  • A Zapier account

  • Verse API Key

  • Your kvCORE Zapier Key

Available Zap Functions:

Note: this integration does require some familiarity with Zapier. If you're unfamiliar with Zapier, we highly recommend checking out our Zapier article here to learn more.

Getting started with kvCORE on Zapier

Once you have created a new Zap using the kvCORE App, you'll need to connect your Zapier Account to kvCORE.

Next you'll see the Connect an account popup. Enter your kvCORE Zapier Key and click on Yes, Continue. For more infomation about where to find the kvCORE Zapier Key, please check out this article from kvCORE: Where to find your Zapier/API Key.

That's all there is to it! You can now reuse the connection you've created across multiple Zaps!

Send New Leads from kvCORE to Verse

Sending new leads from kvCORE to Verse automatically is quick and easy. There are two ways to get leads over from kvCORE via Zapier:

  • When a Campaign Action runs in kvCORE

  • When a new Lead is created in kvCORE

The most common event that is used is New Lead. The steps below describe this use case.

Step 1 - Create a Trigger from the New Lead Event

Once you've created a new Zap using the kvCORE App, the first step in this process is to select the New Lead Event and click Continue.

Next you'll need to select your kvCORE account. If you haven't already connected your kvCORE account, please see the previous section: Getting started with kvCORE on Zapier. After you've selected your kvCORE account, click Continue.

The next section, Test trigger, will allow you to pull in a previous Lead that can be used to set up the rest of the Zap. Click on Test trigger to continue.

You should see a message that says "We found a lead" along with sample data. Otherwise, please create a Lead in kvCORE. Click Continue and then you're done setting up the Trigger!

Step 2 - Add a Filter (Optional)

If you don't want to send every new lead created in kvCORE over to Verse, make sure to add a Zapier Filter step, which will allow you to filter by any field in kvCORE.

For more information about Zapier Filters check out this guide from Zapier: How to get started with Filters.

Step 3 - Add a Create Lead Action

Stary by adding a new Action step with the Verse App. Select Create Lead from the Event dropdown, then click on Continue.

Note: You'll be asked to authenticate with your Verse account if you haven't already done so. If this is your first time authenticating Verse with Zapier, check out our How to get started with Verse on Zapier Guide.

Once you're signed in, click Continue.

Next, you will map over all the standard fields into Verse. The most important fields are usually:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email

  • Phone Number

  • Lead Type

  • Lead Address

  • Lead Source

Note: The lead's email address is critical for updating kvCORE when a lead is dispositioned. Please ensure that the email field is mapped.

Lastly, you'll be asked to test the Action. This will actually create a real lead in Verse, and the Verse platform will begin engaging with that lead, so please be aware not to send a real lead data into the platform by mistake. You can click on Skip test to avoid. Otherwise, if you do end up sending in a test lead inadvertently, you can quickly end the convo from the Verse dashboard. For more information please check our guide here: How to end a conversation.

Once you skip the test, click on the Publish Zap button and we're done!

Qualified Lead updates in kvCORE

You can automatically update your leads in kvCORE with Verse qualification summary, sync custom qualification data that Verse collects over to corresponding fields in kvCORE, and update your Lead Status in kvCORE so that your sales team can take it from there.

Step 1 - Create a Trigger from the New Qualified Lead Event

Once you've created a new Zap using the Verse App, the first step is to select the New Qualified Lead Event and click Continue.

Note: you'll be asked to authenticate with your Verse account if you haven't already done so. If this is your first time authenticating Verse with Zapier, check out our How to Get Started with Verse on Zapier Guide.

After you choose your Verse account you'll be asked to test your trigger. Don't worry if you don't have any qualified leads in Verse yet. You'll be provided a sample lead that can be used to set up the rest of the Zap. Click Test trigger.

Step 2 - Add an Update Contact Action

Add a kvCORE Action and select the Update Contact Event.

Next, choose your kvCORE account and move on the the Set up action section. Here we need to map the Lead Email from our Verse sample to kvCORE's Email field. kvCORE does not offer a Lead Status field to update, the most common practice is to provide a manually entered disposition status in the Note field.

Skip the test, click on Publish Zap and you're done!

Unqualified Lead updates in kvCORE

You can automatically update your leads in kvCORE when Verse unqualifies a lead, so can store the reasons unqualified and store the data to report on later.

Step 1 - Create a Trigger from the New Unqualified Lead Event

Once you've created a new Zap using the Verse App, the first step is to select the New Unqualified Lead Event and click Continue.

Here we need to map the Lead Email from our Verse sample to kvCORE's Email field. kvCORE does not offer a Lead Status field to update, the most common practice is to provide a manually entered disposition status in the Note field along with the Reason why the lead was unqualified.

Skip the test, click on Publish Zap and you're done!

See Verse conversations inside of kvCORE

You can log each conversation in real time as it's happening by creating a new Logged Call in kvCORE, so it can easily be referenced within kvCORE. This includes 2-way SMS transcripts, notes left by Verse reps, Verse Call Attempt logs, and email attempts. Your sales team will be able to easily reference a complete interaction history with each lead.

Step 1 - Create a Trigger from the New Lead Activity Event

Once you've created a new Zap using the Verse App, the first step is to select the New Lead Activity Event and click Continue.

Note: you'll be asked to authenticate with your Verse account if you haven't already done so. If this is your first time authenticating Verse with Zapier, check out our How to Get Started with Verse on Zapier Guide.

Once you choose your account, test the trigger to pull in sample data and move on to the next step.

Step 2 - Add a Format Action

Before we can log the conversations in kvCORE we have to determine if the text message, email, or call was inbound or outbound. We'll use the built-in Zapier format tool to accomplish this. Create a new Format Action.

Next, select the Text Event and click Continue.

Now select Extract Pattern from the Transform dropdown. Then map Verse Type to the Input field. In the Pattern field enter Inbound|Outbound. Please note, the character seperating inbound and outbound is the Pipe Character, which can be found on the same key as the backslash "\", just under the Backspace key on most keyboards. Leave the rest of the fields as No by default.

Feel free to test this Action since it won't send any information.

Step 3 - Add a Filter

Now we need to filter out any activity that doesn't match Inbound or Outbound. Create a new Action with the built-in Filter tool.

In the first dropdown, select Output Matched and set the second dropdown to (Boolean) Is true. The third dropdown will disappear.

Now click Continue to test the filter and move on to the next step.

Step 4 - Add an Update Contact Action

Next, add a kvCORE step and select the Update Contact Event.

Next, choose your account and continue to the Set up action section. Here we need to map the Lead Email to the Email field so we can find the Contact in kvCORE. Under Logged Call Type map the Output 0 field from our Format step. Set Logged Call Resolution to Contacted. Finally, map the Verse Note to the Logged Call Note field.

Skip the test, click on Publish Zap and you're done!
